******PEAK SEASON: FROM JUNE TO AUGUST******

PROS:

Summer in the Mediterranean is hot but breezy on the coasts, sunny with unlimited light and sunshine, almost zero chance of rain, perfect for beach vacations, cruising the Med’s islands and coastal towns.

At this time you’ll find the widest selection of cruise ships and flights. Every country is celebrating summer so you’ll get to attend so many festivals and events.

CONS:

This is when crowds of excited tourists start flocking into the Mediterranean, Students are on their school holidays, so it feels a little claustrophobic in some of the popular destinations, also prices are extremely high, hard to find an average priced holiday rental in most of the crowded countries. Temperature might be uncomfortably high for some people and it might be hard hiking and visiting all the attractions you were dying to see.

******SPRING OR FALL SEASON: FROM APRIL TO MAY OR FROM SEPTEMBER TO OCTOBER******

PROS:

With a very comfortable and mild weather, this season is perfect for backpacking or even cruising the Med, uncrowded attractions and affordable accommodations, you’ll find it easy getting around everywhere. In mid April it is hot enough to enjoy the Mediterranean beaches.

CONS:

If you’re planning a vacation with your family and kids, you’ll find it hard freeing their schedules, especially kids in school. Some attractions and monuments are closed in this time of the year, and sometimes major cities are very low on festivals and exciting night life.

*******LOW SEASON: FROM NOVEMBER TO EARLY APRIL*******

PROS:

This is when you’ll have all the Mediterranean to yourself, perfect for visiting Morocco or Egypt and some of the islands, away from the coasts. Some of the deepest discounts are in this time of the year so you’ll find cheap rentals and affordable bookings.

CONS:

Chilly and Rainy weather on the coastal countries and above freezing level in Europe, too cold for sunbathing or cruising the Sea and you’ll have fewer options in accommodations.
