Manarola is a small coastal town perched on top of a rugged cliff overlooking the beautiful Ligurian Sea. It is the oldest of the five villages known as Cinque Terre, tourist’s favorite coastal getaway in Italy.
As part of the UNESCO protected world heritage, Manarola is still an unspoiled land from the old world, with its colorful pastel Genoese houses, Piazzas and towers criss-crossed by labyrinths of cobbled alleys and bordered by tortuous cliffs, vineyards and chestnut forests.
Some of the oldest monuments of the village and the Cinque Terre as a whole are the cornerstone of the church San Lorenzo and the Gothic style St. Lawrence Bell Tower, dating back to 14th century.
On the west end, there is a picturesque little harbor, famous amongst photographers for the stunning view of the colorful village and the deep blue sea beyond.
